New video revealed in Salmon shooting investigation

SALMON, Idaho (KIFI) - New video of a shooting just north of Salmon on March 12 has been revealed.

Local News 8 actually got these videos when we started following this story on Wednesday, but after days of digging, we finally got permission to show them.

As a warning, these videos are violent and feature censored profanity. They may be disturbing to some viewers.

These videos involve 65-year-old Jeff Hoffman and 44-year-old Ben Jenkins.

Both were arrested for aggravated battery.

An anonymous source told us Jenkins came to the home to get his belongings, but Hoffman allegedly went into the house and came out with a gun.

The two began arguing and shots were fired.

One of those shots hit Jenkins's 13-year-old son, Wyatt Reese, in the thumb. Wyatt was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

We have a second video showing another fight between Hoffman and Jenkins. Our anonymous source says this fight between Hoffman and Jenkins happened a month ago.

Just like Tuesday, Jenkins was supposedly trying to get his things from Hoffman's home. Our source told us there were no injuries from this fight.

Hoffman posted bail the day after he was arrested.

Police are still investigating the incident.

Now, to be transparent, our understanding of what happened comes from one person's account.

We're still waiting to get confirmation from officials, and we'll continue to follow this case as it unfolds.
