Juvenile dies in crash on US 26

RIRIE, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 4:15 p.m. Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle fatality crash on US 26 at mile marker 358, east of Ririe Friday around 8:40 a.m.

According to ISP, Sydney J Cole, 22, of Williamsburg, Virginia, was driving a 2004 Toyota Sequoia westbound on US26 near mile marker 358, and a juvenile driving a 2001 Ford ZX2 failed to yield to traffic when pulling out of their driveway and collided with Cole's vehicle.

The juvenile succumbed to their injuries at scene of the crash. Next of kin has been notified.

The highway was blocked for approximately two and a half hours.

This crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.


ORIGINAL: Idaho State Police are investigating a two vehicle accident on US 26 east of Ririe Friday morning.

The crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. at milepost 358 at Birch Creek Road. That is just east of the Clark Hill Rest Area.

Traffic is backed up in the area because of the crash.

Police have not said what happened.
