WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden says he will visit sub-Saharan Africa next year, announcing the trip as he wrapped up a U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington. He told the visiting African leaders on Thursday that he’s serious about increasing U.S. attention on the growing continent. The visit will be the first to sub-Saharan Africa of his presidency. President Donald Trump never visited Africa during his four years. Biden also announced $165 million in U.S. aid to help sometimes-embattled African nations hold free and nonviolent elections next year.
