Southern California university mourns loss of four seniors killed in Pacific Coast Highway crash

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California university wrestling with the deaths of four seniors who were struck by a car sought to comfort students and faculty at a campus prayer service. The students at Pepperdine University’s Seaver College of Liberal Arts were remembered Thursday as “bright lights with promise and aspirations.” University President Jim Gash says the student body is in despair from the deaths. Authorities have arrested a 22-year-old driver on suspicion of manslaughter. Officials say he lost control of his BMW and hit at least six pedestrians after smashing into parked vehicles along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
