Even something as simple as practicing free throws prior to Wednesday’s game drew the undivided attention of fans and media filling the lower bowl of the Frost Bank Center. The arrival of the No. 1 pick in the draft has energized San Antonio’s fanbase unlike any time in the franchise’s history. The debut of the 19-year-old from France forced the Spurs to sell standing-room only tickets for their season opener months after struggling to move tickets during the team’s 22-60 finish last season.
