ISU builds missing man chair

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) - Idaho State University has a special new addition to Holt Arena.

The university has installed a missing man chair located on the newly-renovated north side of the arena.

The chair will serve  as a physical symbol of the thousands of american prisoners of war and missing in action service members from all wars and conflicts involving the united states.

ISU President Kevin Satterlee says the university wants to always be a military-friendly institution."The idea of having the first one in a college stadium in Idaho was a good idea, so that we could honor service members and honor those who are missing in action. And so this was a great idea and we took advantage of the renovations to holt arena to put this memorial here into the stadium."

Before Saturday's game againstCentral Arkansas, the university will dedicate the missing man chair.

A flag will be presented on the field by members of the POW*MIA Awareness Association.
