Water Quality Master Plan draft to be presented next week
JACKSON, Wyo. (KIFI) - Teton County, in partnership with the Town of Jackson, Teton Conservation District, Protect Our Water Jackson Hole (POW JH), and technical expert consultants, Trihydro and Flitner Strategies, will release the WQMP draft findings and recommendations during a public presentation at the Teton County Library Auditorium on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
The presentation is set to go from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
It will be streamed live on the Teton County public engagement site HERE.
A second public event will then be held on Dec. 13, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Teton County Library Auditorium, to allow the public to ask questions about the WQMP and engage with members of the project team. The draft plan, background information, and public comment can be accessed by visiting the WQMP project page HERE. Public comment opens on Wednesday, Nov. 15 and closes on Wednesday, Dec.31 at 5:00 p.m.
The Water Quality Master Plan is a 20-year vision to protect surface water and groundwater resources from future degradation and improve water quality where known degradation is occurring. The plan addresses management of wastewater, stormwater and drinking water, as well as surface and groundwater resources.
Information collected through the public information and engagement period will be incorporated into the WQMP and presented to the Teton County Board of County Commissioners.
