Bandits split opening double-header

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - Baseball returned to Melaleuca Field and this time it was the Idaho Falls Bandits opening the 2020 season as the main tenants.

The Bandits split their opening double-header to the Cheyenne Sixers.

Dallin Weatherly pitched 3 innings and got the win in game one. The reining American Legion National Champions scored 7 runs in the second inning. They dropped 5 runs in the fourth en route to a 15-5 victory.

Game two under the lights featured David Henze on the mound for the Bandits. He got roughed up in the top half of the second inning. The Sixers go on to score 2 runs in three-straight innings and win 8-2.

The Bandits return to the field on Monday for a double-header against the Bozeman Bucks.
