Olson’s big day helps Skyline snag top seed

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Skyline earned the top seed in the 4A District 6 baseball tournament with a sweep over Shelley on Thursday. The Grizzlies won the first game 9-4 and the second game 17-5.

Trey Olson had a monster day for Skyline. He knocked in 11 runs in the two games combined. Olson went 3-4 with a grand slam and 7 RBI in the opener. He followed that up with a 3-3 performance and 4 more runs batted in.

Brayden Nickels registered 10 strike outs in seven innings for Skyline to get the win in the first game.

Grizzlies will wrap up the regular season Saturday at home against Pocatello. Shelley plays at Hillcrest Tuesday in the District play-in game.
