Athay steals the show at Tiger-Grizz Invitational

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Day 1 of the Tiger-Grizz Track and Field Invitational had some early drama at Ravsten Stadium.

In the boys 3200 meter race, Luke Athay from Idaho Falls battled off Pocatello's Shane Gard and Salmon's Johnathon Simmons. Athay came down the stretch to win the race with a time of 9:25.39. He now owns the fourth fastest time in the nation for a freshman.

Madison Lempka from Shelly took home the girls high jump crown. She jumped over the five feet, 4 inches bar to come in first place.
