Idaho Falls Bandits bounce back on Saturday with 6-1 win over Chesapeake

Shelby, NC (KIFI) - The Idaho Falls Bandits defeated Chesapeake, Virginia 6-1 on Saturday to advance to 1-1 in pool play in the American Legion World Series.

Idaho Falls ace Nate Rose got the win for the Bandits. The 2021 American Legion Baseball Player of the Year allowed one run and four hits in 6 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts and walking two.

Merit Jones's three-run home run in the bottom of the first gave the Bandits the early advantage. He also scored on Ryan Horvath’s RBI single in the third inning.

Chandler Robinson was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and Eliot Jones was 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored for Idaho.
