Eagle holds off Highland 26-21 in Sportsline’s Game of the Week

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) — Eagle opened the high school football season with a 26-21 win over Highland Friday night at Iron Horse Stadium in the first Friday Night Sportsline Game of the Week of the season.

The Mustangs struck first behind quarterback Jace Dahlgren. He connected with 6-foot-6 tight end Landen Bult for a first down before finding running back Devin Ramsey later in the drive. Ramsey spun through a tackle and was brought down at the Highland one-yard line.

Senior Bowen Blackburn finished the drive with a touchdown run up the middle to give Eagle the early lead.

Highland answered on its first possession.

Second-year quarterback Jacob Vincent connected with Easton Almond, who picked up extra yards behind a strong push from the Rams' offensive line. Idaho State commit Cedric Mitchell then found the end zone for Highland's first touchdown of the season, tying the game at seven.

Eagle responded with another scoring drive, capped by Dahlgren finding Aiden Kindrick on a fade in the back of the end zone for a touchdown.

The Mustangs went on to hold off the Rams, 26-21, to earn the first Friday Night Sportsline Game of the Week victory of the 2026 season.
