West Side Dominates Firth 35-7

FIRTH, Idaho (KIFI) — West Side used a strong ground game to pull away from Firth for a 35-7 win Friday night.

The Cougars got on the board immediately.

On the opening kickoff, Grant Vasquez broke through multiple tackles before finding open field near midfield and taking it all the way for a touchdown, giving Firth an early 7-0 lead. But that would end up being the only points the Cougars would score in the entirety of the game.

West Side answered to start the second quarter. Inside the 10-yard line, the Pirates handed the ball to Drake Sage, who bounced outside and found the end zone to tie the game at seven.

As the rain started coming down, the conditions became a factor. Firth fumbled on its next possession, and West Side recovered.

The Pirates took advantage of the turnover, going back to Sage. He got to the outside again and broke free for a 30-yard touchdown run to put West Side ahead 14-7.

The Pirates took control from there, scoring 35 unanswered points to finish off a 35-7 victory over the Cougars.
