South Fremont hands Bear Lake its first loss of the season

ST. ANTHONY, Idaho (KIFI) — South Fremont handed previously unbeaten Bear Lake its first loss of the season Friday night, defeating the Bears 21-6.

Bear Lake moved the ball early in the first quarter, with Dax Perkins connecting with Brox Birch for a solid gain.

Later in the drive, the Bears faced fourth down and went for it. Perkins dumped the ball off to Tyken Carlisle, but South Fremont stopped him just short of the line to gain to force a turnover on downs.

The Cougars quickly flipped the field behind quarterback Cy Hill, who broke free for a long run before being ruled out of bounds near the goal line.

South Fremont finished off the drive when Nash Brower scored on a sweep to give the Cougars the lead.

South Fremont went on to control the game and secure a 21-6 victory over Bear Lake.
