Century Diamondbacks secure 3rd win of season with 20-12 victory over Bees

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – The Century Diamondbacks secured their 3rd win of the season Friday night, when they made the trip to Bonneville to take on the Bees. The Diamondbacks led 7-6 at halftime, and a short sequence in the third quarter seems to be what shifted the momentum their way.

In the third quarter, the Bees had the ball trailing by 1 after an interception by Sloan Harrigfeld set up the offense with a chance to retake the lead. That drive was dominated by a handful of runs from both Bonneville QB Jaxton Briggs and RB Cooper Stephenson. The drive was finally turned into points when Stephenson took a 4th down handoff to the end zone for 6 points. A failed 2-point try kept the score at 12-7 Bees.

However, Century was primed and ready to respond. A long touchdown from Justus Mangum just moments later gave the Diamondbacks a 14-12 lead. They then extended that to a 20-12 lead, and that is how the game ended, with Century securing their 3rd win of the year.

The Diamondbacks will take on Idaho Falls next, and Bonneville will head-to-head with Shelley.
