Blackfoot wins regular season finale 34-22 against Hillcrest Knights

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI) – The Blackfoot Broncos defeated the Hillcrest Knights 34-22 Friday night, handing the Knights their first loss of the season in the final game of the regular season. The win for Blackfoot solidified their spot in the 5A state tournament.

Blackfoot scored on their opening drive when Rykar Wools made it to the end zone, and a two-point conversion run in by Parker Wright gave them an early 8-0 lead. Hillcrest would respond on their first drive with a touchdown of their own. From down near Blackfoot's goal line, Logan Taylor took the ball himself into the end zone for the touchdown.

What ensued was a high-scoring affair in some really tough, wet conditions, and Blackfoot came out on top 34-22. The Broncos came into this game in the MaxPreps rankings as the #9 seed in 5A. Hillcrest had already clinched the district 5-6 title and a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
