Glass, Quarles spark Alabama A&M past Alabama State 42-28

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Aqeel Glass passed for 321 yards and four touchdowns and Gary Quarles ran for 126 yards and two scores to lead Alabama A&M to a 42-28 victory over Alabama State in Southwestern Athletic Conference action. Glass connected with Dee Anderson for a 37-yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead for the Bulldogs after one quarter. Glass hooked up with Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim for a 55-yard TD and Quarles followed with a 17-yard scoring run and a 21-0 lead for A&M. Alabama State (3-4, 2-3) put together three scoring drives _ using TD passes from Ryan Nettles to Kisean Johnson and Wallace Corker and a 16-yard TD run by Ezra Gray _ to even the score at 21 with 12:16 remaining in the third quarter. The tie lasted just 1:47.
