Chukars split doubleheader against Odgen Raptors

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Making up for Saturday's postponement, The Idaho Falls Chukars won the first game of a doubleheader against the Ogden Raptors 4-2 on Sunday, but were unable to win the second game, falling 3-2.

After going down 1-0 in the first in game one, the Chukars added four runs in the first four innings to control the shortened seven inning contest.

Sam Kornstad got the win, allowing just one earned run, and three strikeouts in five innings.

In game two, the Chukars went up 1-0 in the second. They took that lead all the way to the six, where the Raptors scored two runs to go up by one.

Idaho Falls was able to tie it in the bottom of the sixth, but a sacrifice fly in the seventh gave the Raptors the lead and eventually the 3-2 win.

The two teams are back at it for the Fourth of July at 4 p.m. at Melaleuca Field.
