Harsin welcomes quarterback competition

BOISE, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - Boise State added former USC quarterback Jack Sears to their roster this week.

Sears transferred to the Blue Turf with two years of eligibility. That causes a quarterback competition with Chase Cord and Hank Bachmeier. For Harsin, he is welcoming the QB battle.

"Everybody on our team, I hope, wants to play," Harsin said. "So the message is always, when you get your opportunity, make it count. I feel good about that in the room. I think Coach Kiesau, myself, you know, we're always upfront with our guys."

"Jack is the right fit. There's a lot of guys that we kind of filter through and to end up getting Jack, get him in our program. He's a really good player and he can compete. He can run, he can throw. He's played at the highest level in high school. Things didn't work out for him at USC, but we feel like this is a kind of new life and an opportunity for him to get in here and get into our program. We have got to make decisions from there."
