Leadore Girls Basketball advances to first state tournament in 22 years

AMMON, Idaho (KIFI) - The Leadore Mustangs are heading to their first state tournament since 2000 thanks to a nail biting 45-43 win over the North Gem Cowboys Saturday night at Hillcrest High School.

After North Gem scored the game's first basket, Leadore struck back with a three from Mackenzie Mackay and a jumper from her sister Katie.

Leadore held on to the lead for a close victory to return to the state tournament.

Next up, the Mustangs will compete in the first round of the state tournament on Thursday.
