Chukars score 21 runs in five innings to take down Vibes and grab first place in the north division

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KIFI) - The Idaho Falls Chukars are in the first place, and they took the top spot with a bang Wednesday night, scoring 21 runs in the first five innings of their win against the Rocky Mountain Vibes.

The 21-run outburst was highlighted by a pair of wickedly crooked numbers in the third and fourth innings, as the Chuks scored six runs in the third and nine in the fourth. In just the first two games of the series, Idaho Falls has already scored 38 runs.

Steve Barmakian led the way for the Chuks with five hits and three RBI. Eric Callahan also had four hits and Brady West drove in three runs.

Next up, the Chukars take on the Vibes for game three of the six-game series Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.
