Utah receives highest preseason ranking in school history; BYU checks in at 25th in AP Poll

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KIFI) - The Utah Utes are ranked higher than they've ever been in the AP Preseason Top 25, as the Utes are 7th going into the 2022 season.

Utah is coming off its first Pac-12 Championship and a berth to the Rose Bowl. The Utes are the highest-ranked team in the conference, followed by Oregon in 11th.

Meanwhile, BYU checks in at 25th to round out the poll going into the Cougars' final season as an independent before they join the Big 12 in 2023.

As for Boise State and Utah State, the Broncos and Aggies were two of five Mountain West teams to receive votes.
