Bandits honored as Chukars drop fifth straight contests in the midst of the playoff race

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - At a game where the Idaho Falls Bandits were honored for their incredible success with the Spirit of Idaho Award, the Idaho Falls Chukars' bats went cold Wednesday night in their fifth straight loss, a 4-1 defeat to the Boise Hawks.

The Chuks scored first in the bottom of the 1st inning on an error, but that was it for Idaho Falls. Boise tacked on two runs for the lead in the 4th, then added on a pair of insurance runs for the win.

Aside from the on field play, the Idaho Falls bandits received a big honor pregame, as U.S. Senator Mike Crapo presented the Spirit of Idaho Award to the team for their incredible on field success and off the field maturity.

Next up for the Chukars, they battle the Hawks once again Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. still just one win away from their first Highway Series season victory.
