Chukars fall to Voyagers 9-3, trail Billings by 2.0 games for a playoff spot

GREAT FALLS, Montana (KIFI) - A great start quickly turned into a rough game for the Idaho Falls Chukars Wednesday night, as they fell to the Great Falls Voyagers 9-3 in the finale of a road trip.

The Chuks tallied three runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings on a pair of RBI singles and a run-scoring groundout to take a 3-0 lead.

But Great Falls got hot quickly, scoring five runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning alone to take the lead. The Voyagers ended up with nine unanswered runs in the victory.

With the loss and a Billings Mustangs victory in Ogden, the Chukars fell 2.0 GB of the Mustangs for a playoff spot.

Next up, the Chukars wrap up their home schedule with a three-game schedule against Great Falls, which begins Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.
