Butte County wins for Dillon on senior night 54-6 against Challis

ARCO, Idaho (KIFI) - On an emotional senior night in Arco, where the Pirates honored their teammate and friend Dillon Waymire, Butte County won big for him 54-6 Friday night.

Dillon is recovering from emergency surgery after suffering a blood clot in his brain at last week's game against Kendrick, and the school said he continues to get better every day.

At Friday's senior night festivities, the community continued to raise money for Dillon and his family in addition to a GoFundMe that has raised more than $44,000 as of Friday night. The money goes towards Dillon's medical bills, any future surgeries, and potential rehab.

The Pirates played hard and inspired on the field for their teammate, scoring an incredible 40 points in the first quarter to take a humongous lead.

With that huge advantage, Butte County took its foot off the gas to finish off a big win for Dillon, a 54-6 decision against Challis.

Next up, Butte County travels to Raft River Friday while Challis hosts Richfield in its home finale.
