Teton throttles Fruitland 47-14 to advance to the 3A Quarterfinals

DRIGGS, Idaho (KIFI) - The Teton Timberwolves began their bid for a 3A state championship with a beatdown on Thursday night thanks to a 47-14 victory against the Fruitland Grizzlies.

Teton got the offense going right from the get-go. Jack Joyce ran it to the house to finish the Timberwolves' opening drive with a touchdown less than 90 seconds into the game, and Tyson Brown caught a Jack Nelson pass for a score and a 13-0 lead.

Then, Thomas Heuseveldt took over for Teton. He made multiple Grizzlies miss on a dazzling 84-yard punt return TD to end the first quarter, then scored a rushing touchdown in the second quarter to extend the lead to 26 at the time.

Teton went on to win by 33 points to advance to the 3A quarterfinals.

Next up, the quarterfinal matchup is TBD for the Timberwolves because the 3A bracket will be reseeded based on the rest of the first round games coming up Friday and Saturday.
