An area of low pressure with a cold front will move through the region for Friday. We'll see just a few thunderstorms possible near Yellowstone NP, Island Park and mountains near the Montana and Wyoming state lines.

OVERNIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. South wind 10 to 15 MPH, with gusts as high as 25 MPH.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy, with a high into the upper 60's to lower 70's. Windy, with a south southwest wind 15 to 20 MPH. Winds could gust as high as 35 MPH.

SATURDAY: Sunny, with a high near 70°. Southeast wind 10 MPH becoming west northwest in the afternoon.

SUNDAY: Sunny with highs into the mid 70's.

Lower Snake River Plain-LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 9 PM MDT FRIDAY:

  • WHAT…Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph
    expected.
  • WHERE…American Falls Reservoir.
  • WHEN…From 9 AM to 9 PM MDT Friday.
  • IMPACTS…Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create
    hazardous boating conditions, especially for small watercraft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Boaters on area lakes should use extra caution since strong winds
and rough waves can overturn or swamp small watercraft.
