Hot Temps, A Few Thunderstorms

A strong ridge of high pressure is settling in overhead. Highs for Thursday and Friday are expected to reach into the lower 90's. Tonight, mild lows back into the 50's with winds around 5 MPH. For your Thursday, mostly sunny with more clouds in the afternoon, highs into the lower 90's. Southwest winds for Thursday around 5-10 MPH. Hot again for Friday afternoon, with highs into the lower to mid 90's. We'll see a slight chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

A dry cold front arrives for this weekend, with temperatures dropping back into the 70's and 80's. We'll keep it windy all weekend long, with a few isolated thunderstorms.

For Western Idaho the National Weather Service has issued an, EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING:

  • WHAT…Unseasonably hot conditions with temperatures peaking at
    99 to 104 degrees.
  • WHERE…Upper Treasure Valley and Lower Treasure Valley ID.
  • WHEN…From 10 AM to 9 PM MDT Thursday.
  • IMPACTS…Extreme heat will significantly increase the
    potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those
    working or participating in outdoor activities.
