Gusty Winds and regional flooding

Wind Advisory for Snake River Plain and eastern Magic Valley through 9pm tonight.

Flood warning for Fremont County in northern highlands of Idaho and Teton County, Wyoming, and continuing for Blaine and Custer Counties in the central mountains. Rains from weekend and this morning have seen record totals for some - between .75 and 1.75" and have saturated areas, moving land and trees. Combined with gusty winds, it makes for a treacherous afternoon with cold, fast waters.

Do NOT drive through waters where flooding is occurring. Turn around, don't drown.

Yellowstone National Park has now restricted entrance as mudslides and flood waters have washed away roads and restricted travel in the northern portions of the park. Island Park in Fremont County is experienced flooding and fast moving, cold waters along roadways and residences, requiring residents to block water with sandbags.

A sluggish trough pushes showers and winds pick up with a wind advisory through 9pm. Snake River Plain and eastern Magic Valley will see winds 35-45 mph and gust possibly higher. We'll see more sun into the afternoon and come cooler air will squelch any kind of warm up today, highs will be in the upper 50's and around 60. Tonight will be much cooler and in the 30's and some areas may see wintry mix and frost may be in the mix. continued mostly sunny tomorrow and colder air keeps up in the upper 50's to 60. 70's to 80's end of week.
