An area of low pressure moving through the region will continue to usher in gusty winds and a few showers for Tuesday.

OVERNIGHT: A slight chance of showers, with lows into the upper 30's for the Snake River Plain. Winds at 15-35 mph.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower. WINDY with winds at 20-30 mph in the afternoon. Highs into the upper 50's for the Snake River Plain.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny, with a high into the mid 60's. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

THURSDAY: Sunny, with a high into the mid 80's.

FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM MDT WEDNESDAY…

  • WHAT…Small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is occurring.
  • WHERE…A portion of south central Idaho, including the following county, Fremont.
  • WHEN…Until 200 PM MDT Wednesday.
  • IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
  • At 1045 AM MDT, Emergency management reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 0.75 and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen.
  • Some locations that will experience flooding include…Ashton, Marysville, Henrys Lake, Parker, Drummond, Ashton Reservoir, Last Chance, Island Park Reservoir, Ponds Lodge, Chester, Shotgun Village, Macks Inn, St Anthony, Island Park Village, Egin, Warm River, Ashton Hill, Harriman State Park, Mesa Falls State Park and Big Springs.

The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a Flood Advisory for the following rivers in Idaho: Salmon River At Salmon affecting Lemhi County.
Recent rains at high elevations have accelerated runoff for streams feeding into Salmon River.
For the Salmon River…including At Salmon…elevated river levels are forecast.
