Chance of thunderstorms with lowering temps for Thursday

We’re seeing a few thunderstorms this afternoon and evening with increasing winds. A front from the north, will push down some cooler air and gusty winds for Thursday and Friday. This front will lower our high temperatures from the upper 90’s to the 80’s.

Wednesday night: A chance of thunderstorms and showers, gusty winds with a low around 63°. Winds at 10-15 mph, with gusts at 15-25 mph.

Thursday:

Mostly cloudy with clearing skies throughout the day with highs in the mid to upper 80’s. A slight chance of thunderstorms. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 10-15 mph increasing to 20 to 30 mph in the afternoon.

Friday:

Sunny, with a high near 75°, with winds at 10-15 mph.

Saturday:

Sunny, with highs in the upper 70’s to the lower 80’s.

Sunday:

Sunny, with a high in the mid 80’s.

  • AFFECTED AREA…Fire Weather Zone 410 Upper Snake River Valley/Idaho Falls BLM, Fire Weather Zone 411 Centennial Mountains and Snake River Range/Targhee NF, Fire Weather Zone 413 Caribou Range/Caribou NF, Fire Weather Zone 425 Middle Snake River Valley/Twin Falls BLM north of the Snake River and Fire Weather Zone 427 Goose Creek and Raft River Valley/Southern Sawtooth NF/Twin Falls BLM south of the Snake River.
  • WINDS…West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
  • RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 12 percent.
  • IMPACTS…Humidity and wind at these thresholds can cause rapid wildfire spread and long range spotting by embers.
