Frost Advisory tonight before summer tomorrow
Frost Advisory tonight from 2am-9am Wednesday morning. Temperatures will be around 32 in the country and mid 30's in town. Clouds moving out late in the day for us will usher in colder conditions tonight, just before summer arrives tomorrow at 8:58am. Protect sensitive vegetation in the Snake River Plain, Arco Desert, and eastern Magic Valley.
Today will see some lingering showers to the western Wyoming side. Highs will be cooler than yesterday dropping to the lower 60's with lighter winds. WSW 5-15 mph. It will be even cooler tonight with lows in the low to mid 30's even into the valley. We will still be cooler by 10-15 degrees for seasonal averages. This is the closest the June freeze has been to the summer solstice in 18 years (2005).
Midweek will be spent warming up before a round of mountain showers bounces in Thursday. The temperature jump for Thursday and Friday will feel good, more toward 75-80. We'll be in more of a dry pattern going into the first weekend of summer and 70's for most. The sun will return, and the groundhog needs therapy.
