Frost Advisory for Saturday morning with partly to mostly cloudy skies

The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Saturday morning, with low temperatures in the mid to lower 30’s. We’re also fighting the clouds, which could obscure eclipse viewing.

FROST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 AM MDT SATURDAY…

  • WHAT…Temperatures 32 to 36 will result in frost formation.
    Lows may dip below freezing in some locations, but a killing
    freeze with temperatures at or below 28 is not forecast.
  • WHERE…The Upper and Lower Snake River Plain, including Idaho
    Falls, Rexburg, St. Anthony, Pocatello and American Falls. The
    Arco and Mud Lake regions including Mud Lake and Craters of the
    Moon.
  • WHEN…From 3 AM to 9 AM MDT Saturday.
  • IMPACTS…Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if
    left uncovered.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

Patchy fog before 9am for Saturday. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 62°.

Mostly sunny for Sunday, with a high near 67°.
