Winter storm is coming
Ahead of another couple of dry and seasonal days for the area with highs slowly climbing, below increased cloud cover, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Thursday/Friday. Accumulating snows of 2-4" are possible in the valley with gusty winds 20-40mph starting late Wednesday to the north and covering most of our backyard into Thursday. Slick conditions start up and we'll see leftover showers into Friday. More below, but first this message:

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM THURSDAY TO 5 AM MST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...The entire Snake River plain and eastern Magic Valley, incluing U S Routes 20 and 26, and Interstates 15, 86 and 84. * WHEN...From 5 AM Thursday to 5 AM MST Friday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact holiday travel on Thanksgiving Day itself, as well as travel on Thursday night. Motorists should strongly consider a Wednesday departure to avoid the weather conditions and the delays with a higher threat of road accidents.
