Heat Advisory through Saturday with more wildfire smoke

Patchy smoke Friday night and Saturday morning with mostly clear skies. Look for an overnight low temperature around the lower 50's.

For Saturday, we'll see some cloud cover in the afternoon mixing with wildfire smoke. There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures will push to the upper 90's, and low 100's. Winds will be out of the southwest around 10-15 mph for the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM MDT SATURDAY:

  • WHAT…Temperatures up to 100.
  • WHERE…Eastern Magic Valley, Shoshone/Lava Beds, Arco/Mud Lake Desert, Blackfoot Mountains, Lower Snake River Plain, Marsh and Arbon Highlands, and Upper Snake River Plain.
  • WHEN…Until 11 PM MDT Saturday.
  • IMPACTS…Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

For Sunday, look for sunny skies with high temperatures in the lower to mid 90's.

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms for Monday, with high temperatures in the lower 90's.
