Heat Advisory for Friday; Showers and thunderstorms this weekend

We're seeing above average temperatures through Friday, with temperatures pushing towards 100°. We'll also see a few thunderstorms for Friday evening as monsoonal moisture builds in from the south. As we move into the weekend, we'll look for more scattered showers and thunderstorms. This added moisture and cloud cover will help lower temperatures this weekend.

For Thursday night, look for low temperatures in the lower 60's for the Snake River Plain with light winds. Partly cloudy skies with a slight thunderstorm risk for the mountains.

Friday will be hot and partly cloudy. High temperatures in the Snake River Plain will reach the upper 90's. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms for the afternoon and evening. HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 10 PM MDT FRIDAY: Widespread temperatures ranging 93 to 100 degrees throughout eastern and southern Idaho.

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible late Friday night and into the early morning hours of Saturday.

As more monsoonal moisture rolls in from the south, we'll see scattered thunderstorms and showers this weekend. High temperatures this weekend will reach the mid 80's with gusty thunderstorm winds.
