Hay truck catches fire and spreads to stubble field
A hay truck caught fire Wednesday night near the intersection of 65th South and 15th West in Bonneville County.
Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies closed 65th South (York Rd.) and 15th West (Jameston Rd.) while firefighters fought the fire on the trailer and in a stubble field between the truck and the Budweiser plant. The sheriff’s office closed 65th South while Bonneville County Road & Bridge removed the straw and the debris on the road.
No word on how the fire started.
The truck and trailer are a loss totaling approximately $12,000 according to a press release from the Idaho Falls Fire Department. The department also wanted to recognize the farmers in the area who assisted in putting out the stubble fire using their farm equipment.
