Below average temps and above average rainfall predicted this fall

Summer is nearly over, and with fall just around the corner, the trees aren’t the only things that are going to be changing.

Along with colder temperatures, we may get a few more raindrops than usual this fall. The National Weather Service is predicting above-average rainfall and below-average temperatures in the coming months.

Although a cooling trend is just around the corner, fire-season may come to a close sooner than expected.

“The next few weeks look cooler than average, looks wetter than average, that’s only going to help suppress any fires that do start. The next couple of weeks is going to be favorable for that,” meteorologist for the National Weather Service, Tim Axford said.

Last year’s El Niño resulted in varying weather throughout the winter months; however, this year they are predicted a milder winter than last year.
