Pocatello council candidates form coalition

Three Pocatello City Council candidates say they will run as a team in the November municipal election.

Christine “Chris” Stevens (Seat 1), Claudia Ortega (Seat 2), and Roger Bray (Seat 3), are calling themselves “Candidates United for a Better Pocatello.”

The group pledged to work on controlling taxes, protecting business concerns, and thoughtful development that protects the environment. They propose to weigh public input and financial impacts when making decisions on issues. The group also pledged that if any of them were elected, they would donate a recently approved council pay raise to local charities.

“Candidates United” planned to unveil its approach with public forum at Bru House at 502 N. Main Street on Wednesday, September 25 at 5:30 p.m.
