Pocatello Council confirms new Treasurer

The Pocatello City Council has confirmed the appointment of Ashley Linton-Welsh as the city’s new Chief Financial Officer and City Treasurer.

Her job will include oversight of all major budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and treasury functions.. She will also manage Pocatello’s Finance and Utility Billing departments.

“I am excited to work more closely with the City of Pocatello’s Department Heads and City Council to accomplish great things for the City of Pocatello,” said Linton-Welsh. “I am looking forward to providing sound financial reporting and transparency to those living here and getting to know more people in the community.”

Prior to her city responsibilities, Linton-Welsh was an accountant with Rails West Federal Credit Union. She began her career with the city of Pocatello as a budget analyst in 2014. Most recently, she was Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Treasurer.

“Ashley has a strong knowledge of municipal finance, especially when it comes to the City of Pocatello,” said Mayor Brian Blad. “Over the last several years, she has been instrumental in helping to develop the City’s budget.”
