Plane makes emergency highway landing
A Michigan pilot made an emergency landing on Highway 34, near Milepost 99, in Caribou County at around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
The Caribou County Sheriff’s Office said pilot Kyle Miller, 41, of Marquette, Michigan, and a passenger were flying to Laramie, Wyoming from the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.
The pilot noticed a mechanical issue with the 1965 Cessna 182H, which caused the plane to lose its load of fuel. 
Miller landed the airplane on an empty stretch of the highway without incident.
The plane was repaired and refueled from the side of the road. The pilot and his passenger then took off and continued their flight.
The Sheriff’s Office said the incident details were forwarded to the Federal Aviation Administration for further investigation.
