QUETTA, Pakistan (AP) — The sister and a friend of a Pakistani national soccer team player who died in a migrant boat crash off Italy’s coast says she took the voyage to find help for her disabled son. Local hospitals had told her that overseas treatment could be her only option. At least 67 people died when an overcrowded wooden boat broke apart in rough waters off Calabria. Shahida Raza’s sister and a friend said Saturday that the athlete dreamed of treatment for her disabled 3-year-old son. Pakistani President Arif Alvi said her tragedy deeply moved him because the country had been unable to help the boy.
