MILWAUKEE (AP) — As the third day of the Republican National Convention kicks off, Republicans are shifting the focus to national security and foreign policy in a bid to draw a stark contrast with Democrats’ handling of ongoing crises in Europe and the Middle East. Republicans spent Tuesday highlighting what they call Democrats’ failure to secure U.S. borders from illegal immigration. On Wednesday, speakers will address America’s standing on the world stage. Former Trump administration officials are expected to outline what foreign policy would look like in a second Trump term. Ex-Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro has been released from prison in Florida and is expected to speak.
