Sunny and warmer for Wednesday

Eastern Idaho and western Wyoming will enjoy a stretch of sunny and warmer weather through Thursday as high pressure remains in control across the region. Afternoon temperatures will continue to climb over the next couple of days, with many communities across the Snake River Plain reaching around 80 degrees by Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday night will remain mostly clear and cool, with overnight lows falling into the upper 30s and lower 40s. Light winds around 10 mph will continue overnight, although occasional gusts up to 20 mph will be possible in some areas.

Wednesday will be another pleasant day with plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs near 80° across much of the Snake River Plain. Winds will increase slightly during the afternoon, with occasional gusts between 15 and 25 mph. Warm conditions will continue Thursday, with highs reaching the lower 80s under mostly sunny skies. Southwest winds will strengthen during the afternoon, with gusts approaching 30 mph.

Changes begin to arrive heading into Friday as an approaching area of low pressure from the Northwest increases the wind across the region. High temperatures will remain mild, topping out near 80 degrees, but breezy to windy conditions are expected throughout the day, especially across the Snake River Plain where gusts could reach 30 mph. The approaching system is also expected to bring a greater chance of unsettled weather and thunderstorms as we head into the weekend.
