2 hurt in US 20 crash

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - UPDATE 6:05 p.m. Idaho State Police reports James Williams, 44, of Meridian was traveling westbound on US20 in a 2009 Mazda 5, Armando Silvas, 27, of Idaho Falls was traveling with Williams as a passenger, Adrian Torres-Valencia, 23, of Kearns, Utah was traveling eastbound on US20 in a 2015 Freightliner and Mathew Jones, 24, of Fort Worth, Texas was traveling with Torres-Valencia as a passenger.

According to ISP, Williams crossed over into eastbound traffic, colliding with Torres-Valencia. Both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lanes of travel. Silvas was ejected from the vehicle. Both Williams and Silvas were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center via ground ambulance, neither were wearing seatbelts. Torres-Valencia and Jones were not transported and both were wearing seatbelts.

Idaho State Police was assisted by Idaho Falls Police Department, Idaho Falls Ambulance, Idaho Falls Fire Department, and Idaho Transportation Department. Lanes were fully blocked for approximately two and half hours. The crash is still under investigation by Idaho State Police.


UPDATE-3:10 pm: One 44-year old man was ejected from his vehicle. He was transported in "serious" condition. A 27-year-old man was transported in "stable" condition.


ORIGINAL STORY:
Two people have been hospitalized after a crash near the intersection of US 20 and the Lindsay Boulevard overpass.   

The Idaho Falls Fire Department said the crash involved a semi-trailer truck and a truck. 

It happened at around 1:11 p.m.   Two people were transported by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Idaho State Police are investigating.
