Woman arrested after crashing into tree

A woman was arrested on charges of felony eluding and felony possession of a controlled substance after police said she attempted to flee from officers during a traffic stop Sunday.

Erica Rodriquez, 31, was also arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Police stopped Rodriquez on 10th Street near Southeast Bonneville, at 11:55 p.m. for a traffic violation. During the stop, police said, Rodriquez fled in her vehicle at about 55 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Rodriquez bottomed out at 10th and Bower, causing a “significant amount of fluid” to leak from her vehicle. Officers arrested Rodriquez after she crashed into a tree on Woodruff near the East Idaho Credit Union.

Officers said Tuesday that they found Oxycodone, a Schedule II drug, marijuana and a meth pipe in the vehicle while inventorying it.
