Cool weather calms Bear Cub Fire

With the help of cooler weather and cloud cover, the western perimeter of the Bear Cub fire eased up over the past 24 hours. The fire size is still estimated at 6,141 acres. It is burning in heavily timbered beetle killed trees about 27 miles east of Moran, Wyoming in the Teton Wilderness.

The Teton Interagency Fire Center reported that the northeastern portion of the lightning caused fire was still quite active. Prevailing wind patterns continue to force smoke into the community of Dubois.
