Rexburg man burned in vehicle
A Rexburg man was severely burned Thursday night.
At 9:15 p.m., Rexburg police got a medical call to the Maverik on North Second East. A man had been observed sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with the door open. The man’s body appeared burned.
Smoke was coming from the inside of the vehicle, and it appeared there had been a flash fire inside the vehicle for a short period.
Witness heard a loud boom in the direction of the vehicle, and shortly thereafter saw Jared Brad Jensen, 37, open the door.
Jensen suffered third-degree burns on his hands, arms and face. He was transported to Idaho Falls by Air Idaho and then to the University of Utah’s Burn Center.
Several can of air dusters along with a cell phone, lighter and cigarettes were found in the vehicle.
No foul play is suspected. The investigation is continuing.
