Idaho Falls officer shoots pit bull
An Idaho Falls officer shot and badly wounded a pit bull while on duty earlier this week.
The incident occurred Tuesday, and dash cam video of the incident was released Friday.
Officer Malin Reynolds was investigating a homeless couple camping along the Snake River when two dogs ran toward him aggressively, and he shot one of them.
The police department said Reynolds was unable to grab his pepper spray quickly enough, so he shot the dog, wounding it.
The dog had to be put down later.
The homeless couple was cited for trespassing.
This is the second time this year Reynolds has a shot a dog while on duty.
