Pocatello voters approve animal shelter

Pocatello voters approved funding for a new animal shelter to be built in the city.

The bond passed with 5,290 votes, about 71 percent.

Taxpayers approved up to but not more than a $2.8 million bond. The debt would be paid off by using revenue obtained through raising property taxes.

According to state law, the bond needed 66.6 percent margin to pass.
